Error 0x80074273 installing KB911562

When attempting to installing Windows Update KB911562
(security update for MDAC 2.5 SP3) to Windows 2000, either
via Automatic Updates or Windows Update, I get error code
0x80074273. "Search for more info" finds no results.

I tried quitting all security software (Norton Antivirus,
Webroot SpySweeper) and trying again, but I still get the
same error message.

What should I do next?

till haven't found a solution, but here's more background:
The Knowledge Base article describing the patch is
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=911562

Here's a list of possible error messages
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/915731/
however 0x80074273 is not among them.
They are all in the range 17001 - 17040

I noticed that Windows Update labelled the failed KB911562
as "Security update for MDAC 2.5 SP3." But the web page
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911562 says that KB911562
applies to MDAC versions 2.6, 2.7, and 2.8. So I thought
perhaps my MDAC is downlevel, so I downloaded MDAC 2.8 and
tried to install it.

Running MDAC_TYP.EXE (version 2.8) got to this point:

Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8 Setup
Detecing in-use files
Scanning uyour system for tasks currently using
files that setup is going to install...

That screen displayed for nearly ten minutes with no obvious
activity, so I aborted the installation. Same thing happened
when I tried again.

Any suggestions for what to try next?

I tried again, this time wating twelve minutes for
Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8 Setup to detect
files in use and complete its installation. Having
done so, I was able to install update KB911562.

Problem solved.
