Error 0x80070005 installing DHCP

Vini

Hi!

I´m getting the error 0x80070005 when installing a DHCP Server Service in a
W2k SP4 box, and the component can not be installed.
Does anybody have an idea how to resolve this issue?

Thanks a lot!

Hello VINI,

Do you hvae installed all patches? Are you running the install as Administrator?
Is the machine DC or member server?

Hello Meinolf!

Thanks for your help!!!

Yes! All patches are installed and the procedure is being done by an
administrator.

Thanks again!

Hello VINI,

Check that the account is member of the Enterprise admins and try again.
If not check this:

Is it the only Dc or do you have more then one? Because in another posting
there was a solution to demote the DC to member install DHCP and promote
again and then everything was fine.

Hello Meinolf ,

It worked!!!!

The solution was:
1. Demote the Server;
2. Install DHCP Server;
3. Promote the Server.

Thanks for you help!
