Im using a new acer aspire 5710G notebook with windows vista premium, my
problem is that when im typing in text boxes online eg; msn messenger, yahoo,
aim and various other chat sites my cursor will jump backwards and place
itself between text ive already typed. I thort this may be a problem with the
software and had the notebook replaced with a new 1. but the problem is the
same, has anyone heard of this before? and before you reply it iis not any
part of my hands brushing the touch pad and also the problem does not affect
my word documents, it only happens in text boxes. Please help as acer say
they checked it out and the problem is not theres.

are you using an external mouse or keyboard? or the touch pad and keyboard
of the laptop itself?

It must be something with the input devices OR
you have spyware that is creating this....

I'm having this same problem with an older Sony Vaio laptop running Windows
Vista Enterprise. I've scanned the whole system using Windows Defender, and
it didn't find any spyware. (I'd had this problem in the past and was in fact
able to get rid of it by checking for and removing spyware.) Without the
spyware issue, any other avenues to check? Maybe I should go to the Sony site
and see if they have a keyboard driver for Vista....

I too am having the same problem. I also approached the manufacturer of the
laptop and we tried reloading the touchpad drivers, the thought is that the
sensitivity wass way too high, howeer that didn't work. They suggested that I
get ahold of MS since I started really noticing the problem after installing
MSOffice Pro.

I was curious that maybe the MSOffice Pro was inerfereing with the Office
Trial version installed so I removed it and also reinstalled/repaired
MSOffice Pro.

Additionally, I cannot find the control for scrolling. I have to click to
stop the scrolling action in all windows, IE/Word/email.
