erratic cursor jumps

Very frequently when I am typing the text of a document,
the cursor will jump erratically back to a previous
section of what I have typed and continue to type from
that point. I have checked my typing and found that I
have not made any erroneous keystrokes for this to occur.

Any suggestions as to what I can do would be greatly
appreciated.

Do you have Speech Recognition enabled? If so, turn it off.
