'-ERR authorization failed', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Er

I have a smal LAN in my office, one of the PCs is a gateway. The OS on the
gateway is an XP home edition service pack 1, but it's been upgraded to SP2.
After i installed the SP2 I couldn't use the outlook from another computer on
the network. It keep bringing a password authentication window i.e. asks me
to log on to the server. In my account properties the server was specified by
the name of the gateway PC. I'm sure the password is correct, 'cos i've
tried it on the gateway and it worked fine. I've tried so many things. pls
help.
