EQ FIELDS

Hi

I need to create ad hoc fractions with EQ (Equation) field using the \f
switch ie. a fraction with horizontal line between the numerator and the
denominator.
I tried the following field but it did not work–
eg. â…›
{EQ\F(1,8)}.

Must there be a program installed, I have the microsoft eqation 3.0
installed, which I don't use if I am creating fractions using words eg.
Currect Assets – Inventory/Current liabilities.
{EQ\f(Current assets – Inventory,Current liabilities)}.

Please help.

many thanx

What goes wrong? Do you get an error message? If so, try changing the
comma in the field code to a semi-colon. (Usually, a comma is used for
systems where the decimal sign is a period, and a semi-colon is used
for systems where the decimal sign is a comma.)

Try the macro at
http://www.gmayor.com/createfraction.htm
which will quickly turn any selected numbers separated by a slash character
eg 11/78 to a fraction.
As for your field there should be a space between EQ and \F
