Epson Stylus 3000 and Windows XP- what's the story?

I'm interested in buying the 3000 to print A2 format. However the Epson
websites seem to indicate that it is not compatible with Windows XP. I
called Epson (Australia), Sales dept did not have a clue. I currently use
an old Epson Color 600 with XP's generic drivers, and it works OK, though
without the cute little on-screen meters, but has anyone had any direct
experience using the Color Stylus 3000 with XP?

We are cuurently using WinXPPro SP1 and a 5 yr old Epson Stylus Color 3000
connected through a Linksys EPSX3 network printer port. It works great using
the native drive in XP Pro. Although I will tell you that according to Epson
this WON'T PRINT -- Hope our printer doesn't get the message - we are
outputting around 300 pages per month! NOTE- we are not using the epson
print monitor, nor are we attempting to use PostScript - just the Epson 3000
ESC/P2 driver from within WinXP.
