Epson photo 750 printer repair info??

Chris Wilson

Epson Photo 750 Stylus printer, very low usage, carriage stops in odd
places, drive belt sometimes jumps drive gear teeth. Paper not always
fully ejected. It's as if the carriage drive gears are not "timed" up
correctly via the drive belt (I am a race car engineer, excuse the
comparison...). Any info out there to remedy this? Printers are now
pretty cheap, sending it back to Epson may not be cost effective.
Thanks.

Have you tried lubricating the guide bar? That will stop the carriage
problem. It won't help with the paper feed. If it is a problem I suggest a
new printer since repair costs would exceed the value of your 750.

I have taken the cover off to find it uses a pair of "magic eyes", an
emitter and collector to see when the carriage returns to one end, via a
tab on said carriage. the eyes were dirty with paper swarf and ink. A
quick clean with a soft cloth and some screen cleaner has got it working
fine now. I also lubed the guide bar as you suggested, just now, with
some soft white grease, so hopefully it will rattle along for a while
longer. I have posted another question elsewhere, as i want
recommendations for a printer that will do A4 prints and panoramas after
Christmas. Thanks for your help! All the best for Christmas.

Thanks for the info, but I do not use Paypal at all, if you would care
to e-mail your bank account details to me direct I can transfer the
