Epson Perfection 4870 Custom Film Holders?

Hi there ...

Say ... does anyone know any outfits that make custom film holders for
the Epson Perfection 4870?

I thought this one would do the job because I found some close to 100
year old negatives down at my grandmother's house, but it turns out
they are apparently an obsolete format -- 4" X 6" negatives.

Does anyone know if there might be someone who could make a custom
holder for this format for the Epson Perfection 4870?

Thanks!

You may get satisfactory results just by laying the neg on the scanner. If
not get hold of about two square feet of magnetic sign material about 1.5 to
2 mm thick. I got some for free just by asking at a custom sign shop. Craft
stores like Michael's might also carry such. Cut the notch on the top like
all the other holders have (it's used for calibration). Cut a hole to hold
your neg about 3-5mm smaller than the outer edge of the neg. The only
problem you may have is sagging in the middle. You could look at buying some
anti-newton ring glass to lay the neg on. Sometimes dispursion glass from a
frame shop will also work. I know that one of the enlarger companies used to
make a "stretcher" which actually pulled the neg flat. Your's might be too
delicate to handle than kind of force.
