Epson Perfection 1640 SU scanner

Hi All,

I am trying to run my scanner from an Intel iMac but the software I just
downloaded will not open and Photoshop CS does not seem to see the scanner.

Image Capture sees the scanner.

Does anyone have any suggestions on getting my scanner working on my new
computer?

Are you sure you downloaded the correct driver for your scanner and
computer?

On this long URL, (Driver for Intel Mac and Epson 1640SU) there is only ONE
driver that works in the Intel Mac. TWAIN Driver and EPSON Scan Utility
v2.77A

Click on Mactintosh under Driver & Downloads.

I had downloaded and installed the driver listed below at that site you
suggested, yesterday. It did not work.

Macintosh OS X (v10.2.x or later), Intel-based Macs with OS X (v10.4.4 or
later) epson11930.dmg - 24.7MB - posted on 08/09/06

I described (in my first post) what happened when I tried to open either
program from the installer (above). I do not remember if Photoshop requires a
plug in for the scanner but PS did not see the scanner either.

To me it seems like something is missing. Does Image Capture somehow
interfere with the scanner drivers?
