Epson C40UX - How to clear counter ?

R

Ray

My Epson C40UX printer has stopped working and exhibits a "Maintenance
Request" diagnostic. I understand that this means that an internal counter
has reached a limit and the user is expected to take the unit in for repair.
The printer is in otherwise working order. All I want to do is clear the
"Protection Counter" and let the printer work as long as it will. I could
not find a reference in the Epson Help for the procedure to clear this
counter. Does anyone know of the procedure to clear this counter?

Thanks in advance,
Ray

Then reset the protection counter, hopefully this is what the message is
implying.
Just a note of caution, the protection counter is there to warn you that the
waste ink pad is full and it will ask you whether you have replaced the pad,
you need to answer "yes". This should work fine once. When it happens next time
you will need to consider replacing the pad otherwise you could get a waste ink
overflow in your printer.
