Epson 830U

Recently I purchased the above printer as have many other photographers.
Having searched the accompanying disk and the internet I have been unable to
determine the actual
dpi for each of the setting such as "normal, fine, photo, Best photo, photo
RPM" for the specific
paper types, Bright white Ink Paper, Photo Quality Inkjet Paper, Matte,
Photopaper, Premium,
Photo... Glossy. Color Lite"

Even Epson themselves, when contacted by phone tell me they don't know "but
perhaps they range from
360 to 5760."

Surely a manufacturer should be able to provide this information.

Comments would be appreciated.

Photo is 1440 dpi, best is 2880 and photo rpm is 5760

Photo paper usually defaults to 720 dpi on the older drivers and you could
adjust from there. Does it really make a difference knowing the actual
numbers? Just print some things at different resolutions and see what you
prefer. Numbers don't mean anything if it doesn't look good to you.

On a related note, I have also just bought an 830U, but could not work out
how to get the Photo RPM option to appear. It seems to occasionally pop up
as an option, but with most paper types etc it isn't there, and I seem to
have lost which settings allow it at the moment.

What settings are compatible with photo rpm?

Thanks

Andy

Premium glossy and the other premium papers will allow Photo RPM. You can't
print borderless though. On main page click on advanced down in the corner
then under paper type you can choose RPM if you have picked the premium
papers.
