Environment variables

Is there a command-line utility to force XP to refresh environment
variables from the registry? I know this can be done from the Control
Panel, but I would like to incorporate a more convenient mechanism into
a batch file I have created.

Sorry for the gratuitous re-post folks, Google's crappy interface makes
even *finding* previous posts a major chore. Never mind.

Sometimes google is absolutely painful.

A hopefully helpful tip:
I go to
http://groups.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en
type in my email address in the Author box,
narrow down the date range to something less than 15 years,
click search and quickly find all the stuff that I've posted.
(For example, it finds 17 postings of yours this year)

From there I can followup to my old postings, etc.
