Enum not usable in Excel 97?

G

George Nicholson

I have an Excel 2000/XP project that someone "needs" to use in Excel 97.
The only real problem I have encountered is that Enum doesn't seem to be
recognized by VBA in Excel 97 SR-2.

Can someone confirm this for me? I thought Enum was added to VB5 so I am
sort of suprised that it isn't recognized by Excel 97. In addition, I've
seen MS documentation that Enum became a reserved keyword for Access 97, so
I am a bit confused and wondering if my installation of Office 97 is using
the correct references.

Any suggestions or workarounds from those-who-have-been-there-and-done-that?

George,

Enum constants were added in VBA6, which is Excel 2000 and later.
In Excel97 and earlier, you have to declare those variables a
consts with explicit values.
