Entry point GetIUMS in MSDART.DLL

T

Tim Beeson

During windows xp pro setup I got the following error:

"Unreg2.exe - Entry point not found.

The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not be located in
the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL"

After hitting the OK button about a hundred times the
installation continued and completed. Does anyone have
any idea what happened and what horrors I can expect down
the road?

Thanks. Tim

Hi Tim,

Thank you for posting!

Based on my experience, these kinds of errors are related to file versions.

The msdart.dll file is from Microsoft Data Access Components. As for
unreg2.exe, it should be part of some applications installed. It seems
Unreg2.exe was trying to find a newer version of msdart.dll file. It is
trying to find the GetIUMS function from the msdart.dll file on your
system, so the error appears.

If the system is finally installed normally, then we do not need to perform
extra tasks, as the file mismatching should be resolved by the
installation. Therefore, you do not need to worry about the situation.

Hope this information helps. Thank you!
