Entering Page Numbers in Footer

I am attempting to add page numbers in my footer. I sucessfully added the
date - but when I select to add the page numbers - the following prints on my
document. <page> of <page number>.

Strange - because when I do a print preview the page numbers show correctly.
(Example - 1 of 3 etc)

Hi Wanda

If Word is printing
<page> of <page number>
on paper, but is not showing that when you use print preview, then I don't
know what's going on.

But, if I put my psychic hat on and guess that Word is displaying
{ PAGE } of { NUMPAGES }
in Print Layout view, but Print Preview shows correctly, then at Tools >
Options, click the View tab and un-tick "Field codes".
