entering credentials for Run as

I am a domain administrator and have the admin pack loaded on Vista. My
regular account does not have domain admin credentials so I need to do a run
as using a specific account. When I try to use this in Vista it just opens
the app with my desktop credentials. I looked in group policy but the
settings I saw didn't help. Anyone know how to fix this?

The problem is your local account is an admin account on the workstation.
Hence when you tell it to run as an admin it will just "change tokens" to
your admin permissions. The easiest way to do this successfully is to launch
them from a Runas /u:domain\user. If you want to chance the behavior of
this you can do so in the Local policy by using GPedit.msc and browsing to
the Windows Settings | Local Policies | Security Options. At the bottom
will be a set of policies with "User account control" at the begining of
them.
