Entering an ftp:// URL WITH login+paswsword is really not possible ?

I can enter the following URL in Firefox without any problems.
It uses the ftp:// protocol, the login name and the passwort for the ftp account
and shows as a result the contents of the referred file in the browsers window.

unfortunately I cannot use this URL in IntExp 6.0
Do I have to enable this kind of URL handling somewhere explicitely ?

ftp://[email protected]:[email protected]/myfile.txt

Try ftp://myuserlogin:[email protected]/myfile.txt

Work OK with IE6, but not IE7

The 2 @s are perhaps confusing it.

See if this url format works....

ftp://myuserlogin:[email protected]/myfile.txt

its kind of hard for me to understand your question but IE6 supports
ftp connections. the proper format is:

ftp://username:password@ipaddress:port (default is 21)
ftp://test:[email protected]:15000

Try this: click Tools>Internet Options>Advanced and UNCHECK "Enable
folder view for FTP sites" (in the "Browsing" section).

It's pretty much explained here:

Internet Explorer is broken in that / is not going to be the root on the
filesystem of the server, but rather your home directory on that server.
Easiest workaround is to use Firefox instead when dealing with FTP links
from a web browser.
