entered text in a numeric field

i try to select a color in field list and i get an error saying entered text
in a numeric field, how do i change it to a text field

Correct the error in your combo box.

If you would like some more details of the solution, please post some
more details of the problem: what is your "field list"? Are you
working in a Table, a Form? What is the datatype of the field, and
just what are you doing to "select a color"?
