Enter Network Password

I am using Outlook 2003 under Windows 2000 with a LAN connection

Outlook keeps prompting me with a pop-up requesting me to
enter the network password. The window suggests the
passowrd (which is correct) and even offers to save the
password. Nevertheless, the window comes back everytime
outlook logs onto my POP3 to look for new mail

help appreciate

Close Outlook, Control Panel -> MailIcon
Show Profiles - > Email Accounts -> Next -> Change -> More Settings
Security

Look in there. I am tired of typing...

I wish you guys would stop posting this solution. It does NOT work in
many cases. I've tried it 10 times and it doesn't work, and yes, I'm
sure that I'm doing it right.

My guess is that there is something going on with Outlook keeping the
pop session open and then reopening it; the mail server requests the
credentials again because of 2 open sessions.

Hi Wayne ,

The problem you are experiencing is normally due to the Registry
containing incorrect information for the Protected Storage System
Provider registry subkey for your account.
