Enter key won't start new line

I installed Dragon Naturally Speaking software at home to
do staff meeting minutes from work. Shortly after, I
noticed that pressing the Enter Key on my keyboard no
longer starts a new line on my documents in Word, Works
or my Outlook Express for email. I switched keyboards
thinking it was that. Not. I uninstalled the software for
Dragon. Still happens. Now it happens sometimes right
after I've been on the Internet. If I re-boot, it's ok
for awhile but will happen again. Help.
