XP General is just the name of this newsgroup, general
questions, a catch-all.
A Compaq System Recovery is probably an image CD that will
only format and reinstall an image of the system as it was
shipped. A Microsoft System Restore CD is probably Compaq's
OEM XP CD that can do repairs and has the operating system,
hence the MS in the name. To be sure, ask Compaq what they
mean by their terminology.

message | Thank you. Atleast I ask the Right Question in the Right
Forum ! (unlike

|
| I have one more query.
|
| What is the difference between a
| COMPAQ SYSTEM RECOVERY
| and
| MICROSOFT SYSTEM RESTORE
|
| By the way, is there a WinXP General? I thought there is
ONLY WinXP Home &
| WinXP Professional ?
|
| Thanking you.
