Enlarged font/screen size that will not go away?

I have been playing a game for a couple of months on my laptop (Sims 2).
Recently, after closing the game, my screen has changed. The font and entire
view is enlarged and will not return to normal. This has happened in the
past, and a restart has quickly solved the problem. I have tried to change
the settings in the display menu through the control panel, but that has not
helped in any way. Any suggestions? Everything is enlarged, from the icons
on my desktop to the fonts on a webpage. Thanks in advance!

i have the same issue after playing a pc game. i have tried everything and
can't get the icons and fonts back to 'normal'. did you every figure out the
answer to your problem? i need help!
