enhancemysearch driving me up the wall

Hi!

Does anyone know how I can get rid of the enhance my search spyware? It's
driving me crazy. And also the rest of the spyware in my pc. I have Adaware
SE and it cleans up pretty well but not all of it is gone and I'm afraid
people may be getting info from me I don't want them to have. Also, how do I
keep spyware from getting in my comp? My virus protection is expired, would
it keep the spyware away? What's the best anti-virus?
Ok, that's a lot of questions :D

If you go on a search, some sites show you how to get rid of it. I used to go
into the registry and delete it but i don't suggest it if you are not
familiar. Spyware Blaster is free and keeps spyware off to begin with. Also
you have to be careful what you download since many free offers are packed
with it and in that case nothing will keep it off if you download it and
install it. If you don't have a firewall, get one. Zone Alarm has a free
version. Is the spyware listed in the in the add remove programs list? not
that it always works but worth a try.
http://www.avast.com/eng/download/programs/index.html you can try this link
for a quick antivirus reference. i have used fix it utilities and have found
it to be the best out there. but you need to get one soon. hope this helps a
little.

I had the same problem a few months ago. I went onto the Lavasoft website
(they produced AdAware) and went into their forum discussions. There should
be lots of discussions there on how to get rid of these nasties. The tech
support people are the ones who can help you get rid of it all. It worked
for me.

BTW, are you updating the Adaware program regularly? They usually release
definition updates about once/week.

I don't know why i didn't think of this before but did you set the adaware
options to do a deep scan? not a smart scan? It does make a diference. one
day i'll remember everything so i don't have to keep posting numerous
replies:)
