When you create a Data Base, is it automatically Encoded or Decoded and are
there any implications when placing a Password on the Data Base?
Thanks for any help

Databases are not encrypted by default unless you choose to do so. I don't
believe that setting a database password automatically encrypts it; you can
use Tools... Security... Encode/Decode Database to do so.

Note that database passwords are about as secure as a $4.95 bicycle lock;
there are lots of free utilities on the web to crack them. Implementing Access
Workgroup security is a lot more work (and it *does* encrypt the database) and
considerably stronger, though it can be cracked as well. If data security is a
business-critical issue then you really should consider storing data in
SQL/Server or another client/server database.
