Enable/Disable Add-Ons for specific sites

Hello,

I got fed up with all the animated Flash advertisements, so I decided to
disable the Shockwave Flash Object Add-on. (Tools->Manage Add-ons). It's
working great so far, as I don't have to search for the little 'X Close' box
on the advertisement that pops up or worry about my mouse wandering over a
banner ad.

But there are a couple of web sites that use Shockwave Flash that I visit
infrequently. Every time I do so, I must enable the Add-On through the
Tools menu and disable it when I'm done. While this is not too big of a
hassle, it would be nice to enable the Shockwave Flash Objects on these
specific sites (while disabled on all other sites).

Does anyone know if Add-Ons can be enabled/disabled on a site-by-site basis,
or by browser window basis?

Regards,
J.W.

Hi JW
This question has been asked previously. Unfortunately there is no settings
for blocking ActiveX on a by site basis. You could try enabling ActiveX
Flash in your Add-ons manager, then setting your Internet Security settings
to High (blocking activeX) and then adding specific sites to your trusted
zone (where the security level is low, allowing activeX).

Hello,

Thank you for the reply.

I suppose this would mean that all ActiveX Add-ons would be disabled for the
sites. Hmmm... as I look at the add-ins, I realize that the only seemingly
useful ones would be Flash and Java. That's something to consider.

Thanks again,
J.W.
