Enable Content Advisor

Guest

Hi,
I have 30 PC's all on the same domain in my office. I am wanting to enable
content advisor and specify which websites users can access. I have created
a group policy which limits the accessible websites but I can’t find a
setting which allows me to enable content advisor. Can someone please point
me in the right direction on how to do this through group policy.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Hi,

You may find the following link of value:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/chats/trans/ie/ie032003.mspx

Of relevance is the following question:

Q: Which group policies allow control over which sites a user can access? Is
there a way to block all but certain sites?

A:You can do this by setting Approved Sites through Content Advisor by importing
the Content Ratings settings in User Configuration\Internet Explorer
Maintenance\Security and adding a list of approved sites.

A step-by-step guide is available here:

(Hint - you may find it easier to go straight to the answer).

If you have any more questions or comments, do not hesitate to ask. However, I
would suggest you try the following newsgroup, as it is directly concerned with
group policy. They are significantly better equipted to help you :) :

(For windows 2000)

If you aren't using windows 2000, find the appropriate product in the
communities list (URL below), and then navigate to the group policy forum for
that product. Alternatively, reply with the name of the Operating System you
use, and I'll try to fish it out for you.

General page for Group policy newsgroup links:

(Scroll down and select the appropriate forum for your product).

Best regards,

Altrus
