Embedding WORD fiel in Excel worksheet

I have a spreadsheet in which I woudl like to embedde word files. In other
words, when the user wants to read information from a cell, there is a word
doc file embedded in the cell which they click on to read.

You could insert a hyperlink using the 'insert hyperlink' button on your
standard toolbar. It will ask you to find the file you want to link to. You
can give it whatever name you wish, when they click on the link in the cell
the document will launch.

I understand about hyperlinks but that suggests the file is on a common drive
accessible to everyone. I wnat to send the file in the actual document. Is
this functionlity present in Excel?
