embedding my logo in my signature

I've created a new signature with my logo but when I go to send a new e-mail
below the text is an empty box with a red "x" in the top left corner. My logo
appears in the signature set-up. I feel like this is a security issue & I
need to change a setting but I don't know where to begin. Can someone please
advise.

I thought I should add that I'm using Outlook '03 & I have enabled pictures
to automatically download. I've also tried creating the signature in Word and
copying that to Outlook's signature, all to no avail. Thanks for any
suggestions.

Outlook version?
How did you create the signature?
Why do you think it is a security issue?

Version 3
Mail format - stationary picker, advanced edit, typed the text, & inserted
the jpg. I thought it might be a security issue because the signature pane is
empty except for the x but at this point I really don't have a clue. My
outlook setting is set to download pictures though.

You mean 2003?

What is your "Advanced Editor"? Microsoft Office Word 2003? I wouldn't
recommend using that for a HTML editor as it causes issues like that.
Microsoft Office FrontPage (or now called SharePoint Designer in Office
2007) would be better or even Notepad if you know how to write HTML code.

Do you have this update installed? KB945432. It is known that in some cases
it will break displaying inline pictures in Outlook 2003. Microsoft is aware
of that and is working on a fix.
