Embedding Movies into PowerPoint

Tried to put movies (.asf and .wmv) into a PP presentation
and got the error "PP couldn't insert a movie from the
selected file. Either file is non-standard, or QuickTime
is not installed properly." Both the movies run fine
outside of PP on Windows Media Player ver9 and I have run
QuickTime movies without a problem. Any ideas why PP is
having this problem?
