Emailing From Someone Else's House

When visiting my daughter, I cannot send emails from my laptop using my
daughters Talktalk broadband connection. I get the following message: An
unknown error has occurred. Subject 'test', Account: 'mail.talktalk.net',
Server: 'smtp.talktalk.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554
smtp.talktalk.net', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error
Number: 0x800CCC6F. What do I need to do to make it work? The Subject 'test'
was for a test email I sent to myself.

Ensure that 'Always connect using' is not selected on your laptop account @
tools>accounts>select your account>properties>connection tab>apply

You could use the web portal of your talktalk account to send if you fail to
set up WM?

brbrown,
You may also may need to change the Outgoing Mail server setting from the
default Port: 25 to something like 587 or 465, and enable encryption (SSL/TLS)
for that server. On the Advance tab, for the acct's properties, on your laptop.
Your daughter's ISP may be blocking access to Mail Servers that use Port: 25.
