Email set-up

Alex

Hi there.
1. Can I ask why when I create my email account during setup (an IMAP one
and the only account on the computer) that it creates new "account folders"
ie a new, separate inbox/sent etc for that email account rather than using
the personal folders already there?
2. If this is the only way to do this, how can I direct office to go to MY
inbox by default rather than the personal one?
Many thanks,
Alex

Sure you can ask. Go ahead, I'll wait. <grin>

Since an IMAP account allows two-way synchronicity between the server and
the client (i.e., changes on the client affect the server and vice versa),
Outlook must create a folder set that reflects the folders on the server.
This folder set must ne different that that Outlook uses normally necause
IMAP servers cannor accommodate calendars, contacts, tasks, and all those
other non-mail folders Outlook uses.

You can't. IMAP folders can never be the default folders. You will always
have the folder set containing the calendar, contacts, etc. and then you'll
have the folders showing what's on thew IMAP server.
