email security

When attempting to open a link from an email sent by my alumni associatiion I
got the following message: Some links in this message might connect to unsafe
or fraudulent sites. To help protect your security, links have been turned
off in this message. Click the infobar for options to turn on links in this
message.

Now I am certain my alumni assocation would not send unsafe links to my
computer. However I do not see an infobar on my monitor screen. Can you
suggest what I need to do to activate (turn on) my links?

You must have access to some sort of email reader. IE is not a mail reader.
Are you talking about connecting to a web based reader?

Yes. I am already in my email. . It contains a hyperlink to a web page. The
hyperlinbk has been disabled to protect my computer from malicious software.
I want to override this safety feature so that I may go the indicated web
page..
