email is not delivered to outlook data file

I have mutliple email POP3 accounts. I went in and created a new .pst data
file and on account settings linked email1 with data file1 and email2 with
data file2 for incoming messages to be delivered. However, all emails coming
in still go to the original data file1 inbox....How do I get emails delivered
for email2 to the data file2 inbox? It shows in the account settings to be
correct

Hi Billie,

Outlook only has 1 default PST file which is your "Personal Folder" with
your "Outlook Today".

All incoming emails will be delivered into this "Inbox".

If you want to move emails from another account into another PST file
(Personal Folder) you can create an Outlook rule wihich will move all
emails from the other account into the other "Inbox":

Outlook rules:

No mention of what version of Outlook you're using.

You can't link PSTs and accounts. With Outlook 2003 and earlier, you must use
rules to sort out incoming mail by account if you want the incoming messages
to be delivered to separate folders. In Outook 2007 (and 2010) you can
associate a separate Inbox with each account without using a rule, although
you can use a rule as before if you wish. Describe exactly what you did.

Tools -> Email Accounts -> View or change existing e-mail accounts
Deliver new e-mail to the following location

You pick the name of the message store (.pst) which is the profile you
select. You can only select ONE to which new e-mails are delivered. You
can have multiple .pst files open (File -> Open) but those are archives, not
the active message store.

If you want to have multiple profiles (each with its own .pst file) then use
the Mail applet in Control Panel to create more profiles. Each profile has
its own .pst file. That also means that you will need to exit Outlook and
reload it to select a different mail profile to use in that Outlook session.
