Email Blast

Ii work for a company that would like to email a "blast" to recipients in our
customer database that numbers in the thousands once a month for deals and
coupons, etc. Is this possible to do from an Outlook 2003 client on Exchange
6?

The customer Database is in Excel format as well.

If not, can anyone recommend a solution?

Thanks....

You can use the Excel sheet as the data source for a Word mail merge that creates individual email messages.

SPAM for any reason is to be avoided.

This would not be considered SPAM due to the customer has the option to Opt
Out from further emails and deals.

It sounds like you would need listserv software or use one of these programs
for mass mailing:

Be aware that many ISPs will limit the number of recipients coming from your
mailbox at any one time.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, wwallace86 asked:

Bzzt. Wrong. It's not SPAM only if the customer has to OPT IN to get it;
i.e., if the customer told you to send it. Providing OPT OUT does not
prevent it from being SPAM. It's still UNSOLICITED. which makes it, by
definition, SPAM.
