I use to open my email files in Word but recently, I cannot do it anymore. I cleaned
the registry and reinstalled word but the problem continues. I am experiencing this
situation in both Yahoo and Gmail.

Could anyone there help me? This is very important since I am earning a living with
Word and emails.
I Would appreciate any insight into the problem.

Thank you for your reply, I am happily going there. I am sorry for the spam even though I do not know what it is. I am going to learn about it so I do not spam in the future.

I could not fix the problem because my computer cannot find
the Laserfiche file. So the problem seems to be much deeper
than I thought both with word and the operating system. I am going
to HP for support. Thank you very much for your help.

A blue screen, as in a 'Blue screen of Death'? Like this?

Does it automatically restart the PC after the blue screen?

Can you make a note of the error message?

From what you have said so far I'm wondering if this 'Registry cleaner' you used has buggered up the pc in some way.... It wouldn't surprise me.....

The blue screen is inside the window of word not the computer screen.
Error message: "There is a problem sending the command to the program".

I did the registry cleaning with Advance PC Tweeker, after the fact.

Thanks for your interest in helping, I really appreciate it.

Try this?

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...pen-word/18eb8dca-a900-48a5-8468-8b18f364e3a7

  1. Right click on a file with the type or extension that want to change its associated application program.
  2. Select Properties on right click context menu.
  3. In the General tab, click on Change button.
  4. An Open With window will appear. Choose a program to open the kind of file from the list of programs available. By default, Recommended Programs is automatically expanded. However, there is more detected programs in the section of Other Programs, which can be expanded to select by clicking on Down Arrow at the end of the separator line.
If the program that want to used as the default program does not found, click Browse to select an executable file manually.
  5. Click OK button.

I executed your recommendation and did not work.
question: If I uninstall Word and then re-install it. Would this help?
