Email addresses

Thanks, Dave. You can't imagine how many experts I have asked that question
of. You'd be amazed how many different answers I got. All wrong, of course.

And if you send mail with Windows Live Mail the recipient's Windows Mail
will still show your email address.

That's a bummer, but if my list of recipients' e-mail addresses don't
appear, that's progress and a good thing. Maybe MS will make WM friendlier
one of these days. Frank, is it safe and wise for me to download and use the
beta version of WLM? I'm not very adventurous.

Unless the list of recipients is in the BCC field all email addresses can be
read, even with Outlook Express merely by pressing Ctrl-F3 while reading the
message..

There is no drawback to trying out WLM. If it turns out that
you don't like it, merely uninstall, and WM will be back.

I have read through the responses and I am in the same position as Bay Farm.
I tried sending out a "newsletter" e-mail to a user group. I don't want
their names or e-mail addresses showing up. I put all of their addresses
into BCC. However, my "sent" e-mail shows recipeints as "none". When using
Outlook it would appear as "undisclosed recipeint".

So therefore my e-mail is going nowhere and my only other option would be to
use the TO: line, but then every recipeint would know who is one the list and
would have access to their e-mail address which defeats the purpose. The
user list is a client base and therefore confidential.

Has anyone figured out how to do this in Vista - and in laymans terms?

You help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried it the way you said? It should work.
Do the contacts say if they receive it?

I tried it the way I said and have since sent it to myself and got
"undisclosed recipient" in the To line. When looking at my sent version I
was seeing "none" in the To line which made me question if had had gone out.
So I'm hoping this means it has worked. I also sent an e-mail to one of the
recipients and asked if they rec'd the e-mail. Just waiting ot hear back.

Thank you for responding and I'll let you know if it didn't work.

Go to Sent Items and double click the item. Once it opens press Ctrl-F3.
You should see the BCC header line with everyone you sent to via BCC.

Frank, that you so much for that valuable tip. I did get a response from one
of the people on my BCC list that they did get the e-mail, so I now know it
did go out. However, I was wondering how I would be able to double check the
list of who these types of e-mails (ie. BCC lists) were sent to in the future
as it showed as "none" in the sent box. Frank, your response answered that
question perfectly!
