Email addresses disappear from Contacts

After entering email addresses for all of my Outlook 2003 Contacts, I find
that I keep losing certain addresses from the Contact profiles - but the
other profile information remains. I think there is some connection to the
Autocomplete capability, which I use frequently, although I am aware that the
autocompletion cache which has nothing to do with my Contact data. The
missing email addresses seem to be the ones that I've been using from the
autocomplete function. The other email addresses do not disappear.
I have re-entered the missing addresses from my Contacts, but the same
disappearance will occur again. This problem has been happening for only the
last few months, and since I use the Autocomplete almost exclusively, I'm not
aware of exactly when the address disappearance occurs because I would have
to do constant searches of my contact profiles for missing addresses.
What could be causing this to happen?

Hi,

I would do a search on the C: drive for *nk2 and rename the file. This
will make outlook recreate the file and in a way it clears everything
in autocomplete. You can try this to see if it helps in resolving the
issue. If it doesn't fix it then you can always rename the file back to
the original name so you dont loose all that you have in your auto
complete...

Actually you want to search for *.nk2...

thank you pepetorres -
I'm not sure i'm in the right spot for making this reply. I'm a newbie and
have never replied to a reply. I searched and found the file "outlook.nk2"
and changed it to "outlook_new.nk2" and all seems to be working well.
Actually, some of the autocomplete names are already shown when I hit a
letter. Looks good.
