I recently up then downgraded outlook from 2003 - 2007 -2003. I know have my
main email account which ic fine. But the other accounts now seem to be
installed twice, but when I go to modify email accounts they are only there
once.

I removed them so now on the main outlook screen I only have one, but when I
try to close the account from outlook, I am told to go to the mail icon in
control panel to set up an account.

When I go to the mail icon on the control panel/ properties/ data file it
list the location of the data files, when I try to remove them it tells me I
ned to to to Outlook and remove the email account, which is not there.

I would like to delete these accounts withou losing my main account.

Any Ideas? TIA

An account is the email account containing ISP settings/details, sounds like
you are refering to the Personal Folders as an account, exactly where are
you seeing these 'accounts' in Outlook?
If you are seeing them in the folder view then it sounds as though you have
corrupted your Outlook Profile

Use the Mail Applet in the Control Panel to create a new Profile (prompt for
Profile) - not copy, add the data File and your email account (You will need
your ISP settings)

Thanks for responding do you know what will happen to all the emails that I
have saved in individual folders on the current profile?

Nothing, because all data is in the *.pst file, which can be added to any
new profile.

To backup any pst, with outlook closed, simply locate the pst in explorer
and copy it to some other location
(By default the pst is in a hidden location - search to include hidden - and
the default name is outlook.pst, a second pst created in outlook would, by
default be, outlook1.pst)
