Eliminating white between stacked images

I just started used FrontPage to create a website. I have 3 table cells
stacked vertically. There is no padding. I placed a picture in the top one
and the middle one. The eliminate a narrow horizontal white line between the
pictures I had to align the lower (middle) up at the top of the cell. Then I
colored the bottom cell. There is now a narrow horizontal white line between
it and the bottom of the middle cell picture. How can I get all three cell
images to abut without a any white lines separating the images?

When I selected the middle cell and clicked backspace and the picture
disappeared. When I selected the lower cell and clicked backspace, nothing
happened. The space does not show in Design view only in Preview. It is a
white line line a 3 point (more or less) rule.

I'm not ready to publish yet. As I said in my reply to the previous
suggestion, the think white line only shows in Preview. There was no problem
in bumping the middle and top images together but the bottom and middle are
separated. The cell diminsions are exactly the same as the picture
diminsions. I even tried increasing the picture size but that didn't solve
the problem. I may have to wait until I publish the page to resolve this.

Don't trust preview. And if you want a good answer to a question that takes
more than 4 words to ask, you MUST show code, whether you are ready to
publish or not. Either upload it to a junk folder, or paste code into a
reply....

If the page has a valid and complete doctype, it will render in standards
mode. The <img> tag is an inline tag, and as such it is rendered in a text
box. A text box has an enforced space for text descenders. It is possible
that this is the space the OP is seeing. A look at the code would reveal
this.

Or maybe we prefer guessing? 8)

FP always inserts an &nbsp; in table cells when they are created so that there's a clickable insertion point for the
mouse.
If an image is then inserted into the cell, it will result in an empty line, usually at the top of the image.
That's why I told the OP to check for them.

DW does the same, and when you insert something there, it obligingly deletes
it automatically.

A way to do it without using FrontPage would be to use your favorite image
editor, say Photo Shop. As an example, if your pictures are each 3 x 3, open
a new file that is 3 x 6. Then insert one picture on top of the other and
save as another picture, which can then be inserted in a table cell.
