edited org chart becomes gigantic

I've got an MS org chart inserted into a PPT presentation. I open the
presentation and click on the org chart, then I right click and choose MS Org
Chart Object/Edit. I edit the chart, then go to File, Exit and return to
presentation. When I'm prompted to save the chart because of changes, I
choose yes. When I'm back in the presentation my chart is no longer on the
slide but has no blown up to gigantic proprtions. (This took me quite some
time to figure out! At first I thought the object had just disappeared!)

Ok, so now that I know it's still there and just too big, I right click and
choose Format object. Now here's the problem...it won't let me resize! I try
to go to the size tab, but instead I get the message "The measurement must be
between 0% and 10675%." Well, I'm trying to fix that, but it won't let me!!!

It sure sounds like your file is getting corrupted, and it may be for some
reason unrelated to the use of MS Org Chart. I think I would delete that slide
and save with a new name. Then I would go to File > Save as Web Page and save
the whole thing in HTML format (NOT MHTM format). Then close PowerPoint and
open the HTML version. (This is called "round tripping") That might clean out
any developing corruption.

You could then do the same with the version that has the org chart and see
whether you can salvage the chart too.
