Edited Calendar Replies not being kept in e-Mail Out Box

Hi

There seems to be shortcoming with the way the Microsoft Outlook Calendar
return e-Mail functions when accepting meetings.

When ACCEPTING a Calendar Meeting, and one chooses to EDIT and then SEND a
reply as an option, for example including some material in the reply before
accepting the invitation, there is NO RECORD of the REPLY in the SENT e-Mail,
just a record of acceptance. Therefore there is no record of what was sent in
the edited reply.

This is very concerning and falls short of traceability of e-mail sent. (If
you count the edited calendar reply as an e-Mail.)

Has this been identified as a shortcoming?

What version of outlook? What view is on the folder? Do you have outlook set
to save replies with the original message or use rules to move messages? I
have copies of the sent item in my sent folder (outlook 2007).

Hello

Thank you for your reply

Version = Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 (on Company LAN etc)

Reply appears in "Sent Items" e-mail Folder

How does one "have outlook set to save replies with the original message"?
I have searched Options and cannot seem to find that with 2003.

I do not use Rules to move messages.

You may ineed have copies of the sent item in your sent folder (as I do) but
try typing a message in your Calendar's Reply message before fsending, then
sending it to the invitation requestor. Then see if your typed reply is saved
in your send box?

Regards
GG

I did test it (twice) - when I use the option to send a reply, the reply
text is in the sent folder, in the message body of the accepted item. It's
not a separate message and I wouldn't expect it to be in the sent items as a
separate message.

Save with the original when in a different folder would probably not have an
effect on invites, but the option is in tools, options, email options,
advanced options - its near the top.
