difficulty? Thanks

only way i can think of would be to link the headphones socket from ur stereo
into the Line in on your PC, set the level to about 2 thirds so it doesnt
clip and use the record option that comes with your PC, or the software you
usuall use to do this.
If you dont have the software, a nice & simple one i can recommend is
Steinberg Wave Lab

I checked all those references, Byte, and they recommend the "free"
Musicmatch Jukebox software. When I try to use Musicmatch to record from
line-in, it pops up with a message saying I need to purchase Musicmatch Plus.
I even tried RealPlayer, but again you have to buy their full-featured
software in order to record from line-in. Why doesn't Windows Media Player
have this feature? Has anyone else had the same problem I'm having?

There is a purchasable WMP accessory for doing this - the Analog
Recorder in the Digital Plus Pack.

Has anyone else had the same problem I'm having?

There are many earlier posts on recording from line-in.

1.Check the newsgroups archives for prior discussion or solution of your
problems e.g.

Error message codes may be found searching there or via a general web
search. Most problems have been addressed here before: don't expect a
custom answer.

Please supply ANSWERS to the questions there, don't just repeat the

Mike, I appreciate that my question may well have been asked before, and I'm
sorry for duplicating it. But since there is no search option in this
particular group, I thought I might be forgiven if I asked it again instead
of wading through 53 pages of previous entries. I will take your advice and
do a search on the windowsmedia group.

There is, and has long been a search option for all usenet groups. A
link to one of them is included in my sig.

Apologies. I've been interacting with the AntiSpyware group as well, and I'd
confused the two. Of course there is a search function for this group.
