Easy Transfer Companion Error

Hi I have a Gateway GM5442 system that seems to have a "10GB recovery drive
D:" in addition to the 500GB C: drive. When I start the Easy Transfer
Companion application, I receive an error message "This computer appears to
be set up for running multiple operating systems. This is currently not a
supported scenario."

I do not have that sort of setup and wonder if there is anyway I can get
around that.

If not, can you point me to instructions on setting up a wireless network (I
have an XP Pro laptop connected to the Net via a wireless router). But each
time I try to set up a network, the Vista machine says it cannot configure
the wireless devices automatically and wants me to do it manually, at which
point I am lost regarding the PassPhrase, etc.

If I try to set-up the network from the laptop, it just doesn't work. Don't
know why.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Hi MsWrite,

If you have a working network with your XP computer, you don't need to set
it up again from the Vista computer. You should be able to connect to the
existing network from the Vista computer by doing the following:

1. Click the Start button and then click Connect To. The name of your
wireless network should be shown in the Connect to a network dialog box.
2. If you see your network, click on it and then click Connect.
3. If you have a security key set up on your network you will be asked to
enter the key.

Are you able to see and connect to the network from your Vista computer?

Charlene
