Easiest Way to Overclock?

I have a lightly configured system w/considerable cooling:

AMD X2/4200 CPU, 500 Watt PS, Antech P180 case w/3 cooling fans, Thermalake
Big Typhoon Cooler, single SATA hard drive, Matrox fanless video card.

Asus Probe indicates a maximum current temps of 25c for the mb and 35c cpu
for the cpu.

I am not an expert in overclocking nor to wish to become one . Should I
simply use adapative overclocking and in what percentage increase?

I have an Ath 64 3000 Venus on an Asus A8V Deluxe mb with 2 x 512
Corsair ValueRAM using maximum adaptive overclocking. Its easy to use,
provides power on demand then backs down, keeps the system very cool, is
stable. There is a difference in performance.

I only set the parameter in BIOS and did nothing else.
