E-mail notification when logging on

H

Hank

When I log on as a user on Windows XP, it shows that I
have 10 unread messages beside my user name when in fact
I have deleted all my e-mail messages to try and get rid
of this notification. How do I get rid of this
notification?

Please advise.

Greetings Hank,

You can turn this functionality off completely by downloading the TweakUI powertoy:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp (see on the right).

After you have TweakUI installed, click Start, All Programs, Powertoys for Windows XP, and
choose TweakUI for Windows XP. In the TweakUI window, on the left, click the '+' next to
Logon, and choose Unread Mail. Uncheck 'Show unread mail on Welcome screen' and click OK.
