LDAP implementation

5 -2000 Servers w/ AD
15 Novell 6.x servers
Lotus Notes
Exchange 5.5
AIX

Currently I would like manage all user id's from one LDAP dbase. I know
this is a Bill Gates/Microsoft forum but.. one question.

Will e-Directory be the better product to use in this case or any other
company with the above environment?

Warm Regards,
Taishi

2000 servers? Not that much here. ;-)
15 Novell 6.x servers

Some cluster systems here.
Lotus Notes

We have and it's going to die.
Exchange 5.5

Better product? Depends on your needs now and in the future.
We decided to use DirXML to connect both directories. The hierarchical
file structure in NetWare is built on our organizational structure.
Something the AD won't do with the current version. Project
directories are stored in W2k and file access is managed by group
membership. "Best of both worlds" or something like this ...

Our decision for DirXML is linked to the current IT strategy which
defines SAP as leading system for business processes. DirXML has a
connector for SAP HR and some day we will implement it.

I don't know how your environment and management looks like. You have
to make a decision based on your needs, not on those we have and had.

Ciao, Walter
