Dynamic slide numbering in PowerPoint

"<#>" will get the current slide number but.

I would like to create dynamic code in the Slide Master
that can self populate the total number of slides in the
presentation.

You need to go into View, Slide Master, Bottom right of the screen in the "Number Area" edit so that it looks like this Slide <#> of XX (XX being the total number of sides in your presentation.) Then
click on View, Header and Footer, and put a check mark in the Slide number Box, and click Apply
