Hi
can someone tell me if I am able to make dvds on the pc
and play them on a dvd player. I made a dvd but it would
not play in a friends dvd player. hope someone can help.

If u have a dvd burner then yes u can make DVD's. now the
standalone player is anyother question. MOST players will
play DVD+R media. DVD-R is less playable, but still works
in many DVD players. DVD-RW's, and DVD-RAM mostly will
not play in standalone DVD players. check out
dvdrhelp.com for a list a dvd players and what kind of
disc's your friends dvd player willl play.
