DVD+RW

I am running Windows XP Professional with a DVD+RW. I am
supposed to be able to write to a RW-CD and RW to a DVD.
I can sucessfully write to a RW-CD. However, when I
attempt to write data to a DVD disc, a message
appears, "There is no disc in the drive."

The device model is _NEC DVD+RW ND*5100A

Anyone have an answer to this SNAFU.

Probably disk you are using is single speed.
NEC DVD requires minimum 2x medium to write to it.
On NEC site you can find list of recommended DVD mediums to use.
